An NPD Group 2009 survey found that Twitter users are much more likely than the average web user to be engaged in online music activities. In a 3 month period:
- 33% listened to music on a social networking site
- 41% listened to online radio (compared with 22% of all web users)
- 39% watched a music video online (vs. 25% of all Web users)
- Purchased 77% more digital downloads than those not tweeting
